Skiing the Patagonian Andes - Cerro Castillo & Beyond

Based in the remote village of Villa Cerro Castillo, this 10-day ski mountaineering trip explores the dramatic peaks and untouched snowfields of one of Patagonia’s most striking mountain regions. Each day offers a new objective—ranging from steep couloirs to wide alpine bowls—across a variety of nearby summits and hidden lines. With flexible planning, small group size, and deep local knowledge, this trip is built for experienced skiers seeking sustained touring, technical descents, and the raw beauty of the southern Andes.

Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival from Santiago de Chile to Balmaceda Airport (BBA), pickup and private transfer to the small village Villa Cerro Castillo.

Day 2-9

Over the next 9 days this ski adventure is designed as a flexible exploration of the wild terrain surrounding Villa Cerro Castillo. Rather than following a fixed itinerary or chasing named summits, we focus on discovering the best possible objectives each day—adapting to conditions, snow quality, and group dynamics.

From steep couloirs to rolling alpine faces, the area offers a wide variety of terrain ideal for experienced ski mountaineers. Our small group size allows for dynamic decision-making, efficient travel, and a more intimate connection with the landscape. Whether it’s an early morning alpine push or a relaxed powder lap closer to base, every outing is guided by local expertise and a deep understanding of the region’s weather patterns and snowpack.

Each day ends back at our base in Villa Cerro Castillo, where we recharge, review options, and prepare for the next objective—always keeping safety, conditions, and skier experience at the heart of the plan.

Day 10
Private transport from Villa Cerro Castillo to Balmaceda Airport (BBA) and flight to Santiago. Additional night in Santiago depending on flight schedule for home flight.
