Ojos del Salado Volcano 6.893 m

The highest summit in Chile and the highest active volcano in the world - Ojos del Salado Volcano concentrates the eyes of all those who wish to test themselves at high altitudes. This colossus is located in the middle of a great agglomerate of summits over six thousand meters, a paradise for anyone who ventures to try it. Its adventure will allow us to enjoy beautiful views, emerald-colored lagoons, salt flats, flamingos and the infallible Laguna Verde hot springs.

Itinerary

Day 1
Reception at Copiapó airport, transfer to hotel, dinner in Copiapo, equipment check and technical briefing.

Day 2

Transfer from Copiapó to Laguna Santa Rosa (3,700 m a.s.l.) where we can enjoy beautiful landscapes and lagoons with flamingos.

Day 3
Acclimatization ascent to the summit of Cerro Pastillitos (5,090 m a.s.l.) or Cerro Siete Hermanas (4,750 m.a.s.l.) and return to Laguna Santa Rosa.

Day 4
Transfer from Laguna Santa Rosa to our Base Camp in Laguna Verde (4,300 m a.s.l.), where we will enjoy beautiful sunsets and an exquisite thermal bath.

Day 5

Acclimatization trekking to the Mulas Muertas summit (up to 5.000 m a.s.l.), then we will have the afternoon to visit the paradisiacal Laguna Verde and enjoy its hot springs.

Day 6
Rest day at Laguna Verde

Day 7
Acclimatization ascent to Cerro San Francisco (6.030 m a.s.l.) or another 6,000-meter peak in the area. Return to Laguna Verde.

Day 8
Тransfer to Refugio Atacama (5,200 m a.s.l.), where we will set up camp and spend our first night above 5,000 meters.

Day 9
Rest day at Camp Atacama, hike around the area, transfer of material by vehicle to our next camp (Refugio Tejos 5,800 m a.s.l.), return to Camp Atacama.

Day 10
Transfer to Refugio Tejos (5,800 m a.s.l.) to spend the night at a higher altitude. This is a quiet day before our summit attempt, taking the opportunity to hydrate, rest and prepare the body for the summit day.

Day 11
The expected summit day, where we will test our body in a demanding experience full of emotions. Return to Camp Atacama.

Day 12
Extra day.

Day 13

Transfer from Refugio Atacama to the village Bahía Inglesa at the Pacific coast. Accommodation in hotel.

Day 14
Relax at the beach at Bahía Inglesa – enjoy the village, its culture, the beach and excellent seafood. Accommodation in hotel.


Day 15
Transfer to Copiapó airport, end of our services.
